The Few Who Matter
Isn't blogging considered old-school these days? You might be wondering why I'm writing a blog post instead of a flashy TikTok video, a vlog, or even a podcast. Well, I've asked myself this many times. But here I am, typing away, ready to answer the question, 'Why now, considering blogs aren't considered sexy anymore?'
This article is for the few who matter, for those who take their valuable time to read my content. [Hello there, and thank you for joining me on this journey] I know that only 5% of my audience will follow me here, yet I genuinely believe that blogging suits my purpose best.
This space will cover topics like marketing, leadership, and glimpses of my life. Though, before I start posting more, let me share with you the top 3 reasons for choosing this classic format over an Instagram Reel or something similar.
It all starts with having a well-structured…
1. Personal Portfolio: This space, I hope, will provide a timeless record of my thoughts and insights. It's like building a library of knowledge that you can explore at your own pace. Isn’t this amazing? Ah… and it's a win-win for my future collaborators who want to get to know me better before we kick off our partnership. Blogging helps me easily display my work portfolio that's easy to navigate, allowing others to see how these topics evolve over time.
And that leads to...
2. Evergreen Content: Blogs have the advantage of being evergreen, which means they remain relevant and searchable for an extended period. While a TikTok video may go viral for a moment, a well-written blog post can continue to attract readers and provide value long after it's published. It’s all about being relevant.
But to do so, you’ll have to…
3. Practice, Practice, Practice: One of the reasons I chose this format is because I’ll get the chance to practice my writing skills. I'm a big fan of Seth Godin's work, including his blog, and he’s the best example of delivering daily content without excuses. In time, he just kept getting better and better, and now he basically writes every day a small piece of quality content (okay, I’m not there yet, but why not?). During my time in the altMBA, I learned that nothing is perfect, and I should trust the process and deliver the work, even though it’s not flawless. Blogging allows me to continually practice and improve my writing and communication skills. It's a platform where I can embrace imperfection and focus on the journey of growth.
That being said... Was this article for me to explain myself? Or was it to convince you that you should start your own blog? Well, it’s all about what you want to get out of this post 🙂(But if you do so and you start blogging, let me know so I can follow you as well)
Thank you for being part of this journey, and I hope you find value in the insights I share through this humble blog. See you soon!
