2024 unwrap: a year of lessons & things to be grateful for

This year was nothing short of a rollercoaster, but looking back I feel deeply grateful for the lessons learned, and the experiences that shaped me. Some of them were so impactful that I couldn’t resist sharing, hoping they might resonate with some of you as well. Consider this my list of personal recommendations for my dear friends (two standout experiences and two valuable lessons from 2024):

  • The body keeps the score

This is something I understand well (in theory) and can talk about easily, yet it’s incredibly difficult to internalize. This year, my body spoke louder than ever, saying “okay, enough is enough, hit the brakes.” And when it does… oh man, it’s not fun at all. So when you hear that the body keeps the score, don't roll your eyes like I used to. At the end of the day, a healthy body and a calm mind are what truly make a difference. This one it’s a work in progress and a reminder for you too. :)

  • The school of life, London retreat

Attending the School of Life city retreat in London turned out to be one of the most profound experiences of this year. What started as a simple curiosity became an extraordinary journey of self-discovery. Months later, the lessons I learned still resonate.

The retreat came at a time when I was searching for clarity about who I am and what I truly want. It offered a pause; a chance to step away from life’s noise and discover things about myself I hadn’t seen before (or perhaps didn’t want to). That clarity felt like a gift, and it marked the moment I began journaling, a habit I’m now so grateful for.

  • Transparency brings peace (eventually)

This year, I embraced the discomfort of transparency, and let me tell you it’s not easy. Being open and honest about your thoughts and needs is vulnerable work. But the peace it brings? Totally worth it.

Speaking my mind, even imperfectly, left me with fewer regrets (and a better night’s sleep knowing I stayed true to myself and acted in good faith). Good faith is very important here: being transparent doesn’t give you permission to be rude. If you truly want to grow as a person, your intentions need to be clear and on the table. I've realised that It’s empowering to say what you think, not in heated moments or with subtle hints, but calmly when you can control the narrative. This is a lesson I’m still learning, but every step toward this kind of honesty brings me closer to the calm I crave.

  • A surprise from craniosacral therapy

If you’d told me last year that craniosacral therapy would make my highlight list, I would’ve laughed 100%. I’m naturally skeptical, not one to gravitate toward alternative therapies. But I decided to try it, thinking, “What’s the worst that could happen?”

Turns out, it was incredible. After just two sessions, I felt like a weight I hadn’t even known I was carrying had been lifted. Walking home from the first session felt like waking up from the most restorative sleep, light, renewed & refreshed. Fully recommend it!

This year, I came to realize that my energy had been focused more on our little family, and it was absolutely worth it. For me, there’s no greater sense of accomplishment than contributing to a peaceful home environment, having a supportive partner, and nurturing a well-balanced child, no matter the challenges.

These moments, lessons, and surprises made 2024 a year of… let’s call it transformation. My goal for 2025 is still the same: to practice as much awareness as possible and embrace life as it is. (Oh, and dive a bit deeper into what Joe Dispenza says about manifestation. I’ve just started looking into it, but it might be worth learning more) What about you?

Happy New Year, everyone! ✨
